APPLICATION SECURITY
In recognizing the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) of 1996, USA, PayorLink™ introduces a level of security for your account by bringing CCOW and HIPAA considerations to the range of PayorLink™ solutions in the following aspects:

Application Security:
Users are required to login to PayorLink™ solutions independently of other applications and regardless of how the workstation is accessed.

User Authentication:
PayorLink™ solutions utilizes User Logins along with passwords to confirm the identity of a person involved in a transaction and verify that a person really is who they say they are. This prevents unauthorized users from accessing data. PayorLink™ solutions also allows for the incorporation of SMART Cards and Biometrics (fingerprint) devices into the security model at the computing device level.

Automatic Log Off:
PayorLink™ solutions causes a user to be automatically logged off from the application if no activity occurs within the designated amount of time.

Audit Trail:
PayorLink™ solutions has implemented an audit trail which records all activity within each PayorLink™ application accessed through the workstation or network. The audit trail logs when information is accessed, changed or deleted.

Role based Information Access Control:
PayorLink™ solutions assigns privileges based on the role of the user. Administrators of the system can set up roles based on the combination of privileges. The administrator can then create users whom they assign to these roles.
